Dolly-Parton

born on January. 19th, 1946, in Locust Ridge Tenn into a poverty-stricken family which would later include 12 children Dolly Parton learned early to get away from the struggles of life through her vivid and expansive imagination. Even before learning to read or write and compose herself songs. The guitar that she first received was presented to her at the age of eight. She began singing in an Knoxville Tenn station by the age of eleven. She recorded her first album in the same calendar year on Gold Band Records, a small label that was an independent. The singer established a name on the local circuit while in high school, however she dreamed of a bigger stage. The day she was able to graduate from the high school in 1964. Dumb Blonde was her first single to reach the top of the charts at the top of Monument Records. Porter Wagoner's syndicated tv show required an additional singer around this point. Parton signed with RCA Records and then joined the Grand Ole Opry. She was hired in the year 1967. It was not until 1974 when she made the decision to quit Wagoner's show because the success of her own solo records like Joshua Coat, Many Colors and Jolene had outstripped their collaborative efforts. Parton was a part of the group that split after the end of their relationship with Wagoner was the one to write I Will Always Love You and made it to Number. 1 for the first time in 1974.
