Sheryl Underwood is an American comedian, host of a TV show and performer best known for hosting the popular daytime talk show The Talk. Sheryl Underwood was born in Arkansas and was raised within Little Rock, Atwater, and Atwater. Sheryl was raised in the midst of a challenging family. She spent most part of her life taking care of Frankie. Frankie suffered from an illness called polio. She faced a lot of trouble with her mother while growing to. Sheryl claims that her mom was once brutally stabbed by her father for getting too close. Sheryl was a college graduate when she was drafted into the military. Her passion for the military was comedy. In 1989, she was the first woman to make the finals in the Miller Lite Comedy Search contest. In 1992, she began her TV debut as a regular on the HBO show Def Comedy Jam. She hosted the television show Oh Drama! in 2000. The show has also featured her as host of The Talk since 2011. She has also been in fictional roles on shows including Bulworth Nikki as well as Beauty Shop.
